Who's behind RenewalShield

Derek, the founder and developer of RenewalShield

I'm Derek. RenewalShield is me.

Not a team, not a company with a sales floor — one developer in Tampa, Florida. I'm telling you that first because it's the thing a scam operation would hide.

You can reach me directly at derek@renewalshield.us. A human replies, usually the same day.

Why this exists

SAM.gov registrations expire every year, there is no grace period, and expired means ineligible the same day. Renewals take two to six weeks to clear IRS and CAGE validation, so a contractor who starts at the deadline is already late.

Almost nobody misses their renewal because they didn't care. They miss it because the one person tracking it got busy, or left. I built a small tool that watches the date so nobody has to remember it.

If you got an email from me and it felt suspicious — good

That instinct is correct and I'd rather you keep it. There is a well-known scam where third parties email contractors about their SAM expiration and charge hundreds of dollars for a renewal that is free to do yourself at SAM.gov. My email has the same shape: a stranger, your UEI, your expiration date, a link that isn't .gov.

What I will never do

How to verify I'm a real person

What RenewalShield is, plainly

You give it a UEI. It watches the expiration date and emails you before it lapses. The free version watches one registration and costs nothing, with no account. The paid version watches your certifications and clearances too.

That is the whole product. It is deliberately small.

The honest part

RenewalShield is new. I'm a solo developer, currently operating as a sole proprietor — not an incorporated company. I'd rather you know that now than discover it later and wonder what else I left out.

What I can promise is that the alerts work, that I answer my own email, and that I'll tell you the truth about what this does and doesn't do.
